Icetv not syncing well with Beyonwiz T2

Post by Funjunkie6 » Tue Jul 11, 2017 10:39

Howdy.

i am subscribed to Ice TV and downloaded the plugin for my T2. i logged on to Ice TV via my T2. checked the Log - all good.

Logged in to Ice TV App on my iPhone and programmed some recordings. Pressed the Update button on the Ice TV App - all seemed ok.

but, i only have 2 of 10 or so Timers set on my T2. i then went into the Ice TV plugin on T2 and did a manual fetch. It said it was successful. Checked the log - it said timers downloaded successfully, but they are not in the T2 timer list.

i have rebooted T2 and rebooted the GUI as well.

any ideas please, otherwise i may as well unsubscribe from Ice TV.

thanks.

scotty has reported some difficulties with IceTV while running the latest T4 alpha firmware.

I assume that you are not running the alpha firmware, but it seems unlikely that it is a factor.
I suspect perhaps that the IceTV servers might be at fault here. We may see more widespread reports of issues like this.

I'm not having any problems with timers failing to be set on our in-use T4 when recordings are set from the IceTV Web page in firmware 20170706 beta, and I didn't have any problems like that when I was running earlier firmware versions.

Did the log entries say specifically that timers had been updated, i.e. specific "Timer 'Program Name' updated OK", and not just the generic "Timers updated OK"?

Did you create an IceTV device entry for the T2 before you downloaded the IceTV plugin and registered from the T2?

Thanks for the advice,

i logged into the IceTV website and 'resent' all timers, which worked.

Beyonwiz just wouldn't update via the IceTV iPhone app.

Beyonwiz just wouldn't update via the IceTV iPhone app.

The Beyonwiz has no information about whether a recording is set from the IceTV Web page or from the IceTV app.

The Web page and app both set up the recording in the IceTV database. The Beyonwiz queries that database to set its timers. There's nothing in the query or response that distinguishes recordings set from the Wab page from recordings set from the app.

I suggest that you use the Sync function in the app after setting up or changing recordings to ensure that the app updates the IceTV database in a timely manner.
