The story is as follows:
- Received the repaired T3 and set it up from scratch.
- Replaced the HDD and reformatted it.
- Upgraded T3 to 19.3 20201011. Generally working fine.
- Had to reformat the HDD again as it initially complained that it could not setup the hard link for time shifting. First time it setup on the USB stick!
- Rescanned, created Favourites
- Setup networking by DHCP (router assigned IP address)
- Stopped DLNA, set root password
- Created network mounts to the T4, U4s, one PC and confirmed all could be accessed.
- Setup IceTV.
The problem:
The U4 can't access recorded files on the T3. The U4 network browser can see it, create a mount and seemingly mount the movie folder. However, on attempting to access the T3 recordings, the media player reports the error that the T3 movie folder does not exist?
I've tried it with and without vers=2.1 in the U4 mount options but no difference. The T4 works if the 2.1 parameter is omitted. The U4 refuses to work. Note that auto.network and automounts.xml match and contain no extraneous characters.
Curiously, using the same technique to create a mount on the T4 worked. The T4 can see the T3 and access it!
The U4 and T4 can see and access recordings on each other. However, the U4 media player cannot access the recordings on the T3. Similarly, the U4 cannot access recordings on the T3 by File Commander either.
Moreover, the T3 can see all the other network devices and access them without a problem.
I suspect that there is something about the U4 configuration that has caused the problems with the T3 and previously reported problems with V2 connections.
Note that the U4 can connect to my Windows PCs, the T4 and to the other U4 without a problem.
Like Star6key, we use the U4 to watch recordings and rely on the network to access recordings made elsewhere. Although I can watch the T3 indirectly connected via the Denon, it annoys the other half to do so (the T3 picture is much darker than the U4).
Any thoughts of options to try are welcome.
