Beyonwiz Warranty Help

Post by kevkochy » Tue Mar 15, 2022 19:48

I purchased a V2 in January 2022 and after first turning it on in February 2022, it was discovered that Tuner A is unserviceable. I submitted a request for service on 27 February 2022 but have heard nothing back since then. I have tried to send emails but they keep being bounced saying that the email was undeliverable. I tried ringing and finally got through to a recorded message asking me to leave my name and number. I did this and have not heard back.

I am after what I need to do to return the item back to get a serviceable tuner installed. Getting no response from Beyonwiz on the Support Desk webpage, email or telephone messages is making me believe that after sales support is non-existent.

Have other users had any luck in getting items repaired under warranty? If so, what do I have to do to get mine fixed and how long will the process take?

Thanks for listening.

The Support Desk doesn't seem to get serviced as often as it should.
You may want to try contacting Beyonwiz through the sales email address instead.

I am surprised that you managed to get a phone number to work, as I had thought all of the Beyonwiz phone contacts had been closed some time back.

Unfortunately, my recent experience is that a sales enquiry sent to the sales email was also ignored. Sorry, I know that doesn't help you out!

Yeah I haven't heard back from my support or sales tickets from last year...

Shame...

There appears to be a whole lot going wrong with Beyonwiz over the last year or so.

I had a V2 power supply go pop 10 months ago and reached out to BW for a replacement under warranty and received no reply. I tried following it up a couple of months later and again after another 4 months but there was no response. I found a suitable replacement on Amazon almost immediately but I am still owed a replacement under Australian consumer law.

This one may be on me for trusting BW but I purchased my V2 in Feb of 2021 with a USB hub. I received the V2 and tuner but have never received the hub. I know the hub was out of stock at the time I ordered but the system accepted my money and I assumed the hub would ship when available. I have emailed BW sales desk a couple of times and received no response. This is bordering on fraudulent trading in my opinion.

If the company is in financial difficulty or struggling with staffing issues then it would be nice to know what the future of our devices is (are?) :?:

Not sure either. The company is registered to Jai Kemp who is based in Sydney. The ABN still seems to be current, but the company name appears to have been cancelled.

Hi Kevkochy
Have you heard back from beyonwiz yet?
I have an almost identical problem.
It is about a month since I submitted a warranty claim.
I have also tried telephoning and emailing their 'sales'.
I understand if there is Covid or other illness, or a family problem - but we need communication.
Ah well - that's another $480 down the drain.

Things are not looking good for Beyonwiz; just checked and the price of naked V2 has skyrocketed to $429; only 4 in stock. I paid $264 for mine just over a year ago on 5 May 2021.

I too am in a similar situation. Have tried to contact Beyonwiz for my warranty claim but have been ignored. Have followed up with ACCC and formalised a letter to their email address and continue to be ignored. Now I'll follow up with Fair Trading NSW. So disappointed to see Beyonwiz behave like this, I have purchased over 4 and previously talked highly of the product until my most recent purchase.

I received a call from the NSW Fair Trading Commission today indicating that they ahve my request for help and are looking into the incident. I am not holding too much hope for a speedy or complete resolution.

FairTrading have contacted me and it seems they too cant get in contact with Beyonwiz. So firstly I would advise anyone to be cautious before buying their equipment as the warranty conditions wont be met. I am now off to the Tribunal.

You're probably going to encounter the intricacies of dealing with a deregistered company, which appears to be the case for Beyonwiz's parent company in Australia. However, unless it has been liquidated, you can possibly mount a case against its directors.

If it is in liquidation, you would be an unsecured creditor and be unlikely to get much, or any satisfaction.

When it comes to buying a PVR I now assume that there may be problems getting warranty claims satisfied, or in the worst case, the product will not arrive. I always pay using PayPal for its buyer protection, and also use my Amex card which provides additional warranty protections.

I purchased my U4 with the proceeds of PayPal refund for my non-functionin IceTV Skippa (could not work without IceTV epg). Shortly afterwards IceTV Mark 2 became available so I had a windfall.

Following my warranty claim for my non-working V2, The Dept of FairTrading contacted me and it seems they can't contact Beyonwiz.
I think they are out of business.
