I had the exact same problem with firmware 1.07.0414. I then reverted to the .301 firmware and have not had the problem since. It seems that's a bug in firmware 1.07.0414.
I've had my DP-P2 for about 5 months now and it's been very good with the .301.
I'd recommend going back to the older firmware.

When browsing the ABC2 EPG in vertical form, that is, just that channel and not the horizontal timeline, the BW locked up when it got to the last page of TV shows. Hi Voodle, Please change the 'DISMISS' in the on screen dialog boxes to an 'OK'. It makes more sense and actually matches the OK button on the remote. The on-screen buttons are not a mnemonic for the remote control keypad. The word "Dismiss" implies no action will be taken whereas "O...

Having given up on ICE TV I'm using the free to air EPG which is quite good. However, on this new firmware there are black holes in the EPG and TV shows which only run for a few minutes. I'm wondering if this is a BW issue or an ABC issue. A source tells me that the ABC is aware that their FTA EPG ...

@Voodle, I think this is an inconsistency in the way timers are created directly from the EPG. Done directly from the EPG, the name is hard coded from the data there right NOW. Hi Voodle, I see what the other user is saying about the asterisk. It's a work around, but not as intuitive as what I think it should do. Pardon me! It is not a work around. I think what Voodle is asking for is if you set a weekly timer to record say CSI at 9:30-10:30pm every Monday night and 6 weeks into the series CH9 decide to move it to the same time but Sunday nights, the weekly timer will continue to record a hour show every Monday called CSI. I think what Voodle...

Hi, Please update the firmware so a recorded program gets its name from the EPG when it's recorded rather than the name it was set up as when the timer was created. For example, if a weekly timer was set up for 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday for "Grand Designs" and the TV station changed the show, ...

A suggestion, a very good one, was made the other day regarding the EPG. Since the BW has two tuners, why doesn't the other tuner scan all of the TV stations until the EPG is updated. That is, it's a background task making intelligent use of the other tuner. Of course, if it's recording then don't d...

MKV playback also seems to have higher CPU(?) overhead. You might have success if you use tsMuxeR to convert to a TS (transport stream). Another useful test is to copy the file to the internal HDD and try to playback from there (and do so when there are no active recordings). I've got a 720p video ...

Interestingly a 720p MKV file that is 2,327,673,442 bytes in length and runs for 60 minutes doesn't quite play over the 100Mb Ethernet on the BW. It starts well for about 10 seconds and then stutters with low frame rates and no sound. That's 646,575 bytes per second over a 13,107,200 byte (100Mb/sec...
