Modem antenna
Modem antenna
I have a ZTE MF910Z wi-fi modem. The speed is reasonable (around 10Mbps), but after upgrading our data plan I'm finally seriously considering getting an antenna or two (something like this or this). I'm just not sure how much of a difference they would really make, would anyone be able to shed some light?

Re: Modem antenna
Hi adoxa
The MF910Z has been around for a while. The Telstra Prepaid 4GX Hotspot Black MF985T is a bit of a step up. Max data rate goes from 150Mbps to 600Mbps and wifi is dual band with max 20 connections. It also has 2 antenna ports. Do you have a nearby Telstra shop or Officeworks where you could check it out? The only trouble with those add on antennas is they can look good but don't work. You need to buy them through Element 14 or RS or similar that have proper quality control. Either that or get an outside yagi antenna.
