9Rush EPG empty

Post by paulg » Mon Apr 06, 2020 13:24

Hi, I have and use ICETV for EPG and recordings. 9Rush appears in my EPG but is empty. When I go to ICETV it shows as available and I can successfully set 9Rush shows to record and then have the instruction to record set on the Beyonwiz.

Any idea on how I go about getting the 9Rush to populate the EPG?

Thanks, Paul.

There have been a couple of other reports of this from IceTV users. I'm working with the IceTV folk to try to work out what the problem is.

Which IceTV region are you getting the EPG from?

I've also moved the topic to the IceTV area, because it doesn't seem to be specific to any model.

Another one with the same problem. Came here looking for inspiration to fix.
I am in Adelaide.
I have a V2.
9Rush is in Teresteral Favourites.
It is in the Favourites (TV) list but has no Station Icon (Picton?) and no horizontal bar to the right of the station description.
It can be deleted from the Favourites (TV) list and added again via the Green button or by Menue-/- Add to Favourites.
Appears in the EPG as a blank field with Station description but no Picton or EPG data.
Selecting the Channel from the EPG does not display and program info up the top.
Selecting the channel from the EPG and double-clicking on it zaps to the current 9Rush program.
Selecting Info while in the EPG gives no info of the current program.
Selecting Info while in the Favourites (TV) list displays a plain text list of the program on now and of those to come, with their times and the IceTV logo up the top.

I've only got stuff starting at 19:45, with some gaps.

Picon. Picton is a town near Sydney :D

You have to be running the most recent beta firmware (20200405, released overnight) to get the 9Rush picon. If you're not on the firmware beta feed and up to date, you won't see it. It's not related to the problem. I have a test setup that allows me to see the problem (Canberra doesn't get 9Rush), and I can replicate the problem when the picon is present.

I'm working with the IceTV software people to try to sort it. One of them doesn't get the 9Rush EPG, either :D

For the technically minded: the IceTV 9Rush EPG data appears to be getting into the EPG cache (and EPG cache file), but the EPG display doesn't seem to be able to get it out.

There have been reports that IceTV recordings set on 9Rush work, even though the Beyonwiz EPG doesn't show them.

I see something similar, except that it's starting at 03:45 tomorrow (Tues 5 Apr) morning!

There seems to be an issue with some of the IceTV 9Rush EPG metadata. A fix for the Beyonwiz IceTV plugin probably won't be needed, but no promises.

Thanks for the detail, but I think that the problem has been found (but not yet fixed or pushed out). If data is added further out in time, it can clobber earlier events, though I'm not sure that that's in fact what's making some of your data disappear.

Doesn't entirely surprise me. Some existing IceTV timers mat find themselves detached from being updated properly, too.

I found some more holes just past midnight, morning of Wed 8th - NSW Central Coast EPG (don't ask...)

It all should remind you of something that used to happen with the IceTV EPG...

A little birdie told me you should try doing an IceTV fetch now. Looks good for me now (for NSW Central Coast).

The manual fetch shouldn't be necessary, the next normal scheduled fetch should to it, but if you want to check it out straight awat, do the fetch.

I just looked at the debug log and saw 171 entries for 9Rush get received. I'd only enabled IceTV debugging earlier to see what was being received.

Just looked at the 9Rush EPG and it seems to be up and running. No input from me.

Will look at the firmware update (beta) in the morning to get the picon.

Thanks to all involved
