Help! U4 not displaying video/sound

Post by marcuskmt » Sat Feb 10, 2018 20:01

Help!

I changed a setting in the setup menu and everything was working. I turn off the Beyonwiz U4 and came back 8 hours later and now when I turn it on, I get no video/sound. Coincidence or bad setting?

I want to change the setting back, but I do not see any picture to be able to change the options.

When I turned off the Beyonwiz U4, as it booted, I saw the Beyonwiz logo and the boot screen and then about 1 second of DTV and then it went off.

When I try to change the TV-Out resolution by pressing the TV-Out button on the remote, I get about 1 second of video for each compatible resolution and then it cuts out.

HOW DO I CHANGE A SETTING WHEN I CANT SEE ANYTHING ON SCREEN?

Use OpenWebif from a computer/tablet and change the settings - viewtopic.php?f=47&t=12255#p162778

Cheers. That was too confusing so I just upgraded to the beta firmware, 17.5 20171230.

Now I have to remember to not change it to Auto-Resolution.

You can still use the Auto resolution feature. Just don't set any resolutions that your TV is incapable of displaying.

There is a bilg fix coming soon that should make the video mode button on your remote work properly when Auto resolution is enabled.

Pretty simple, really,

Open OpenWebif (OWIF)
1. Expand virtual remote

2. Press SETUP

3. Scroll right to AV settings

4. OK on AV settings

5. Scroll down to Auto resolution and disable, change mode to lower resolution

6. Press GREEN to save

7. Choose 'yes' to mode question and press OK

It sounds like you enabled Automatic resolution with output resolutions that your TV can't handle (perhaps 2160p). There was a bug in earlier firmware that stopped TV-OUT from working if Automatic resolution was enabled.

That should be fixed on the beta feed now.

Yes, that sounds like what happened. All fixed with a factory settings reset via a beta firmware update.
