Logitech Harmony codes for T$

Just installed a T4, but I cannot find a 'standard' set of codes at Logitech Harmony to suit the T4.
Is this correct, or am I looking in the wrong place?
Regards
Mike

I'm not sure what you mean. I have a Harmony 785 and the old Java app Logitech Harmony Remote Software can set up T2, T3 and T4 devices in the 785.

I'm pretty sure that's the case for newer Harmony remotes that use the browser-based setup software.

In Logitech Harmony Remote Software, when I go to Devices>Add Device and select Video Recorder>PVR and Beyonwiz, it can find codes for all of T2, T3 and T4 when I enter them as the PVR model number.

I don't have a newer device, so I can't say exactly how to get the Beyonwiz T series codes on that, but there are a number of forum folk who are using that software to configure their Harmony remotes.

Perhaps if you post your Harmony model number and where you've looked in the configuration software to add the new device, it might be easier to help.

All the codes for the T series supported code sets are already in the Logitech Harmony database, so there is no need to customise them. When you add your T4 as a device, just search for "Beyonwiz" as manufacturer, and "T4" as the device.

Depending on what model of remote you have and correspondingly what software you use to configure it, there are a couple of different ways to set up your remote to use one of the 5 alternate command code sets that the Wiz understands (in case you don't want to use the standard 0x02f2 command set).

I wrote a howto that includes some instructions on how to properly configure the discrete on/off commands, and it includes some Harmony specific information.

You can read that here.

I also attached a list of the command codes for each remote type in that thread if you were interested in knowing the specifics.

Thank you very prl and Mr McQuade. I will try again.
Whilst I am here, I would like to send a big THANK YOU to prl, McQuade, peteru, IanSav, Gully and others on this forum who helped me with my DP1 from way back in 2007. Without your help over the years, my DP1 experience would have been very difficult.
Thanks Again
Mike

No problem.

But if you still can't find where to create a Beyonwiz T series device in the Harmony setup software, you'll still probably need to say what model the remote is, what Harmony setup software you're using (Java app or browser-based), and where you've looked in it to try to find where to add the Beyonwiz device.

Thank you all.

My Harmony remote is a 525.
The software I am using has been downloaded to my desktop - Version 7.7.0
In this software I input the following:-

Devices>add a device>Add device>Select device>PVR>Beyonwiz> enter "T4">Next>Next> ... and I get "do you have a remote for this device".
This is a far as I get. Pluging in the remote to learn does not help.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Mike

Very odd. I see the same thing when I try with my version of the 7.7.0 software. I am pretty sure that used to work.

The T series are definitely still listed as supported for your remote in the Device Compatibility page.

The newer "My Harmony" software still allows you to add a T2, T3, or T4 device as normal.

How far do you get through that procedure? Does it ask you to teach the remote a short series of keypresses, and then it still doesn't recognise the T4 remote?

Perhaps prl can assist further, I no longer have a functioning 785 remote to test with.
It might be due to the fact that the T4 remote can understand several different command code sets, and the older software needs you to teach it which code set to use before adding the T4 as a device?

If not, I can post a query on the Logitech support forums.

If I recall correctly that is the first step it needs. By getting one or two keypresses it gets enough to identify the remote and command set.

Thank you Gully and Mr Quade.
I get as far as connecting the remote to my computer with the USB cable and placing the two remotes 2-5 cm apart, and pressing a few keys to 'wake them up', but nothing happens.
Perhaps I should give Logitech a phone call?

Regards
Mike

When you are pressing the buttons on the T4 remote, are you pointing it as the 525's IR receiver?

From the looks of photos online, the IR receiver looks like it is the little black plastic square on the very bottom of the 525.

When it asks whether you have a remote for the device, lie and answer "no". It will then load the device keycodes from the Logitech database instead of making you train the Logitech.

Thank you prl and MrQuade.
Despite trying your recommendations, I could not trick it into submission.
I had to call Logitech, who made the adjustments for me - they were very good.
I am now tidying up the 'soft keys' in the screen on the remote.
Hopefully all is well

Mike
