my U4 wont update, how to fix??

trying to update with USB, i have downloaded the file, formatted USB stick in FAT32, extracted the beyonwiz folder from the zip file to the root of the USB, i turn the beyonwiz off at the back of the unit after shutting down, put in the USB stick and turn it on, it does not see the update and just boots up like normal.
i have tried using the rear USB port as well, same thing, it wont recognise the update.
it will see the usb stick as when i got the sources/files it will show up and all the files on the stick ok.
how do i fix this??
i dont want to do online update as last time it took all day and screwed up in the end.

also, since trying to update the U4, it has totally lost sound now, i cant get any sound out of it and have no idea whats going on.

Try different USB sticks. The U4 is more tolerant of the various capabilities of USB sticks than the T series, but it can still fail to recognise a stick that has otherwise been prepared correctly.

The sound issue is interesting though.
First thing is to check the U4 volume hadn't been turned down to zero.

Reformat the flash drive, and extract the firmware again.
Remove any other USB devices, and try again.

You can even use a small portable USB HDD for the firmware upgrade - just create a small (e.g. 1GB) FAT32 partition.

yes i do remember that actually, last time i had similar issues and a different stick fixed it, will try a different one.

still no sound for some reason, yes volume up on tv and dvr, i have done sound test on tv that is working, so i dont know whats going on.

Do you have another HDMI cable you could try?

tried another hdmi cable, im thinking its the tv issue. i have a sound bar conencted to the tv via fibre optics, when connected straight to the nvr i get sound ok, but not when its connected to the tv.
seems a coincidence that after i tried updating firmware sound stopped it seems. still testing.

Have you tried another device (DVD, PC, etc.) connected using the same cable & HDMI input?

Connect the U4 to a different TV?
