I have noticed media file playback over WizPNP is a bit suss, the timeline doesn't seem to show properly when you hit the Ok to view it. Files over 2G are a problem also, as I think I said earlier, I think I will have to fake out what the Wiz does when you copy media files over 2G to it...j s wrote:Trick modes don't work - or behave strangely when they try to work
Could be the 2G thing, not sure.Playback often gets "unsupported format" or will terminate inexplicably
Yeah, this is something that I need to look at with the original mongoose code related to sockets appearing not to timeout. I am going to have another good play on the weekend to see if I can determine why, when you start then cancel a few downloads (even via the web browser for example) that it begins to grind and thrash the HDD like it is not tearing down the sockets when it should be. It eventually does once you hit "q" but like you said, takes an eternity. This is also why I didn't release the SLUG binary yet, as the poor slug with 200MHz CPU and 32meg RAM really does grind to a halt and is very difficult to get mongoose to shutdown.P.S. Seems like maybe some thread issues - after~15 minutes playing tried to end the server with "q" but 5 minutes later it was still waiting for threads to finish.
Whoops about the index building and having it poll the SSDP stuff prior to the index being built... I will definitely have to alter the "every 1minute" code which happens independently to the "build the index.txt" code... normally in my testing the index building typically takes seconds, but I should actually set a flag to stop the polling happening until the flag is set (I will do it with a global var... I hate using global vars, but then again, I hate adding arguments to routines and having to parse them thru nested routines, using a global is quick.. and maybe nasty... but does exactly what I need).
