DP-H1 back from the cupboard_a query

Post by Ade_78 » Fri Feb 09, 2018 13:41

Hi folks
A couple of years ago (i.e. Dec, 2013!) I stored my trusty DP-H1, as I did not need it. Today, I resurrected it and to my astonishment, it works.
I found that some files (MP4) play video but not audio - is that because the DP-H1 does not support the new MP4 audio codecs?
It has the last firmware update.
Thanks for any info. [I'm looking at getting the latest Beyonwiz...]

mp4 is a container that can take many audio formats. See here for example.

Download the mediainfo program and analyse the files in question to determine what audio format they contain. That should help someone answer your question.

Thank you for your reply. I hope this is the info:
MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
Sample rate: 44100hz
AAC Extension: SBR

I have another file where the audio does play, but it has:
It does not have the AAC extension: SBR but a sample rate of 48000.
I am not at all well versed in this. so any advice would be most gratefully received.
