Re: Replacement Remote Control (V2)

Many years ago we acquired an “all-for-one” remote which had bigger buttons for parental use. The TV was a less common brand and thus not present the the 5 pages of fine print of “enter this code for model….”. By luck we picked a model that had a “custom” capability and they offered a service of “if...

+1 on a death of sata to usb controller. Had an old hp 2TB enclosure which seemed to "die". Broke the drive out of its enclosure and tested on a PC and the drive was just fine. A few dollars for a new enclosure and back to business with the upside that the enclosure was usb3 giving a littl...

I have been following this and thought, hang on, surely you could just change the remote code using open webif, went in and yes you could. FWIW, I saw a related issue when switching from T4 to TV with our harmony. It was all working as expected since original setup. Then at some time in recent weeks switching from T4 to TV resulted in TV being switched off. Eventually guessed at CEC signal from T4 going into standby being a root cause....

Recently updated U4 with online update to beyonwiz 19.3.20210726 (20200822-138-gb9ea638). I then noticed the flashing bitError indicator in OverlayHD that I had never noticed before. I had disabled IP6 in the routers some time ago after I noticed a bunch of sources banging away IP6 at addresses on the router in its log entries. OK, so some digging around has revealed that odhcp6c and / or udhcp6c may be the culprits. Looking at /etc/udhcpc.d/default50 suggested that it is a participant in the overwriting of resolv.conf. Another viable option for IOS is vuplustv. By comparison, for me, a plus is it works over a VPN (well, at least using the OpenVPN on my Synology) whilst telly'mote does not, a minus is that it does not decode the broadcast closed captions.
