Re: Jump to specific spot in a recording?
Thanks for that! It works just how I’d like it to . That setting is not at all obvious, I never would have worked that out by myself.

Jump to specific spot in a recording?
Is there a way on Beyonwiz to jump to a specific spot in a recording as it is playing back, such as 50%, 90%, or 1h00, or 0h30min, etc? On my former Topfield, if a recording was playing, you could simply hit 2 digits on the remote, e.g, ‘5’,’0’, and it would jump to the 50% mark in the recording. Is...

4:3 presentation modes are the wrong way around!
I discovered that two of the settings for how 4:3 content is presented on a 16:9 screen are swapped the wrong away around! In Menu > Setup > AV Setup > AV Settings > Display 4:3 content as has these options: Pan & Scan - this should zoom in to fill the 16:9 screen, cropping the top and bottom of...

Re: Rename bookmarks?
IIRC, in the Movie List, press MENU on the folder and create an alias (the bookmark will also use it). Actually, you should be able to do that from the bookmarks, too. I could not get that to work. Pressing MENU in a movie list when on a folder that has already been bookmarked, the options are “Set...

Rename bookmarks?
Hello! Is it possible to rename saved bookmarks in the V2 media player from /device/path/to/folder to something more user friendly (while it still points to that file path, of course)? I’ve tried all sorts of things but have not found a way to do it. Pressing MEDIA while in the Media player allows y...

Re: V2 remote fast forward malfunction
Good to know this behaviour is not just me. The fast-forwarding is completely unusable. The settings say the first step should be 2x speed but it’s more like 16x or 32x and it’s all over the place - not smooth.
Surely a firmware update could fix that?

Re: Default trash folder?
Why bother? They'll auto-delete based on settings "Remove items from trash after (days)" and also "Disk space to reserve for recordings (in GB)" (MEDIA, MENU>>Settings...). I hunted high and low for a setting like that and couldn’t find it… obviously I missed it. I’ll look again.

Re: Default trash folder?
I highly recommend leaving it as "movie". In terms of the Enigma2 ecosystem, "movie" doesn't mean "feature film", it just means "video file" essentially. The keyword "movie" is unfortunately baked into a bunch of the code and it isn't worth "ge...

Re: Default trash folder?
I am going to guess that you have created separate "TV shows" and "movie" folders on your V2's harddisk, and this is likely leading to some level of confusion. Ideally, a single disk should just have one single Trash folder at the root where all deletions from that disk go. It m...

Default trash folder?
I’m slowly getting used to my V2 after changing over from my dying Toppy. I’ve noticed that when I delete recordings, the files go into the top-level Trash folder, and not the Trash folder of the directory those recordings were in. Which is not how I would expect any OS to behave. Is there a setting...

Re: Wishlist for Next PVR?
I think “wishlist for next PVR” is like asking what’s your wishlist for the next optical disk format. There won’t be one. My Topfield is dying and so I did the hunt for replacement PVRs. There is Panasonic (with all its FreeView crippledness, including encrypting recordings so they can’t be copied),...

Re: I cant buy a beyonwiz!
Well I just bought a Beyonwiz after my Topfield died after 11 years (tuner started to fail - DVB-T reception started to drop out increasingly frequently).
I ordered it online on 2 May and it was delivered on 10 May!
So yes, Beyonwiz are still in business and you can still buy their PVRs.
