I think you may be right. My router uses an external DNS server and I'm not sure if it can be configured to provide DNS resolution in the case of Internet outage. Networking is not my strong point, but I'll look into it some more.

The latest firmware has software that can remix .ts file into mkv or MP4 containers. You just need to install a handy plugin to add the feature to the main GUI.
