Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

Yep, it's from the last page. I have 20 channels from the 5 networks in my favourites bouquet. I have checked it since enabling "EPG cache save" and it seems to be fine now, Note that the "cache save" is not the setting that is responsible for the closed gaps. "Cache save&q...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

Looks like others have covered the point that you want it to refresh your favourites though looking at the screenshot, you don't have many services in there. I assume that shot of the EPG is from the last page. Yep, it's from the last page. I have 20 channels from the 5 networks in my favourites bo...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

Maybe the cache reload setting is one of those sneasky ones that don't take effect till you restart? This was my V2, which never had the cache reload setting enabled. I was just using it a an example as that is what used to happen with the T4 as well. I haven't seen it happen today. I have just ena...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

No, not what I meant by "gap". When you say "The entries are blank", do you mean that there are cells in the grid that you can navigate to, but they don't contain any program information, or that there are blank areas in the channel EPG that are skipped over when you try to navi...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

For reference, the "Wake from standby" in this particular instance refers to "Deep standby". ie. the setting determines if the Wiz will wake from deep standby to perform the refresh. The "Run Autotimer" setting, is only really useful if the Wiz is being woken from stan...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

You will still need it but I'm wondering what settings you are using? I have left many settings at their default and have now changed some as suggested by @MrQuade. The relevant settings are as follows... Duration to stay on service: 120 EPG refresh auto-start earlieset: 17:00 EPG refresh auto-star...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

If the broadcaster's data has overlaps in program times, then there will be gaps in the EPG. It's not certain that that's the cause, but it could be. When I say gaps, I mean huge gaps. The entries are blank. The only way to see what shows are currently playing or coming up next is to change the cha...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

I further guess that Network TEN wasn't high on the watch/record list. Correct. There's only a few things that get recorded each week. Network Ten often has blank entries in the EPG, too, even on my V2. The V2 has both "EPG cache save" & "EPG cache reload" disabled and it do...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

The T4 only uses about 30W, so it could last quite some time on battery depending on how big your ups is. 30W is less than I thought, especially when recording. I guess I could get 2 hours or so out of a small UPS, which would cover most power outages, but I have had no experience with UPS's. It's ...

Re: T4 loses channels after power outage

More easily, you could enable the "EPG save" option in the main menu EPG settings screen. That will default to saving your EPG every 24 hours. I wouldn't change that default 24 hours setting though. Writing too regularly to the internal flash memory can wear it out faster. "EPG cache...

Re: Network mount doesn't work when Internet is down

I have a Billion 7800VDOX in case anyone knows of any relevant issues. It's quite a few years old now, but has served me well. Funny you should mention that. I used to have a Billion 7800VDOX and that was when I had those sorts of problems when the internet went down. I'm going to point by finger a...

Re: Network mount doesn't work when Internet is down

Thanks peteru,

I think you may be right. My router uses an external DNS server and I'm not sure if it can be configured to provide DNS resolution in the case of Internet outage. Networking is not my strong point, but I'll look into it some more.

Re: Network mount doesn't work when Internet is down

Thanks MrQaude, I checked the time settings and my V2 is set to sync the time from the TV broadcast and not an NTP server. I have been experimenting a little more. When I boot my V2 it takes about 45 seconds to boot. When the internet is disconnected it takes about 80 seconds, pausing for a while at...

T4 loses channels after power outage

I have had a strange problem with my T4 since day one. Whenever the power goes out some of the networks randomly vanish from the EPG. Usually network 10, but also some of the others. This means that the auto timers will not see scheduled programs and so will not schedule recordings. The way I solve ...

Network mount doesn't work when Internet is down

I tested this manually to confirm - disconnecting from the Internet. When my V2 was powered on prior to losing the Internet connection everything worked...

Re: Multiple Timers created from Autotimers

It was in OWIF at one point in time, and then it was removed. I entirely forgot about being able to set the auto timers directly on the T4 with the remote! After changing all the relevant auto timers last night I ran the test and it still showed duplicate timers. However, I figured I'd just ...

Multiple Timers created from Autotimers

Re: Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

The monitor will support 50Hz. That's what I was hoping. My current computer uses a 60Hz screen and playback on it is okay. I don't really notice it too much unless there is a lot of movement on screen, such as the camera panning, etc. The monitor is about the same price as the average smart TV of ...

Re: Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

Thanks Grumpy_Geoff. I updated the firmware this afternoon and those scripts really helped. All my auto timers are just as they were before. Re: Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

If you want, I can provide two scripts that you can run via File Commander (Sources / Files) from a USB drive connected to the T4 . You'd run one before flashing that'll backup your AutoTimer definitions, timers, and Power Timers to that USB drive. You'd run the other script after flashing to resto...

Re: Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

Either/or. The ability gives in having a recent version of ffmpeg installed which I think all models of Wiz now have..... I think. Well, that would be a handy addition, indeed. That would be one less thing to worry about when choosing a TV. I'll have to look into it. I'm certainly going to be busy ...

The latest firmware has software that can remix .ts file into mkv or MP4 containers. You just need to install a handy plugin to add the feature to the main GUI.
Is this in reference to using a USB drive? Or could it be used for DLNA access, too?

Re: Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

Paul_oz53 - Actually the USB drive idea might be worth a crack. Sort of like I do now - copy them to my computer first, only I would essentially be copying them to the TV (the USB drive) to play. I guess the TV would still have to be able to play .ts files, though, so it's still a matter of taking p...

Re: Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

Hi Gib, The T4 is in the lounge room connected to a non-smart TV via HDMI. My PC is in a bedroom and is where the new TV will be, so a HDMI connection is not possible. Thanks for the quick responses. I am able to play the .ts file directly from the T4 without copying but when I do I entirely lose the ability to skip forward and back. Seeking Advice - Connecting a 4KTV via network to a T4

Currently I use a PC to access a T4 in a separate room via a wired network. I simply open the files from my PC and play them via VLC. Using the PC for playback like this is not ideal (no remote control, having to copy them first, etc) and I would like to buy a new 4K TV around 50” to use, both as a ...
